Decision on exhumation

Directorate of Inspection

Purpose: Most commonly it allows applicants to transfer remains to new location (closer to family, town/country of birth).

Description: The applicant must make a request to the Reception Office together with the document on the deceased. The application is forwarded to Inspectors, who once they have made a field visit will decide whether to permit exhumation. (Changing the burial to another town or country)

  • Name and surname of the applicant
  • Notes regarding the body
  • Information on the company which will perform the exhumation

Anticipated time within which must be answered for procedure (days): 30

Documents requested

  • Death Certificate (Original)
